Shoshannah Wagenberg Paralegal / Law Clerk
Shoshannah Wagenberg joined M. G. Michaels & Associates as an administrative assistant in 2018. She was moved to a position as a Family/Estate Law Clerk in early 2019 based on her many years in law. Shoshannah brought years of experience and expertise to M.G. Michaels & Associates. She has more than 25 years of experience as an administrative and legal assistant as well as a law clerk. She has worked for some of the top Bay Street law firms in downtown Toronto. Behind every great lawyer is an equally great law clerk, to ensure the smooth running of a busy family law practice.
In 2023, Shoshannah returned to school to further her education earning a Paralegal Post Graduate Certificate. She is now a paralegal, duly licenced by the Law Society of Ontario. Shoshannah has now created a new hybrid position in the Firm taking on Paralegal roles while maintaining her law clerk services to the lawyers and clients. The firm’s clients can expect the same dedication and commitment from Shoshannah in either role – law clerk or paralegal.
As a paralegal, Shoshannah is able to appear on behalf of clients at various courts and tribunals in Ontario but has chosen to accept clients with matters in the following areas:
- Small Claims Court;
- Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA)/US Customs and Border Protection (USCBP)/NEXUS Applications and Appeals; and
- Human Rights Tribunal.
As a law clerk, she will continue to support the lawyers and clients in the areas of family law as well as wills and estates and guardianship. Shoshannah, has been one of two liaisons between our clients and the lawyers dealing with their matters. Her duties include:
- Preparation of court documents;
- Ensuring all necessary court filings are done;
- Preparation of uncontested divorces;
- Drafting of Wills and Powers of Attorney;
- Preparation of documents necessary to file estate administration applications with the Court;
- Preparation of court documents for Guardianship Applications.

Because of her corporate background and experience on Bay Street, several years ago Shoshannah elected to obtain her ILCO (Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario) certification in corporate law. As such, she is also able to assist clients with: simple incorporations, preparation of corporate documents required for real estate transactions as well as annual minute book updates and corporate filings.
